Hallo ! Viyana' ya uçak bileti aldığımızda beni nelerin beklediğini bilmiyordum. Bu şehirden bu kadar etkileneceğimi düşünmezdim. Şu zamana kadar gittiğim yerlerden farklı bir havası vardı. Her yer sanat kokuyor. Binalar, insanlar, mekanlar... Hepsinden ayrı etkileniyorsunuz. Sadece 2 gece 3 gün kaldık ki, bu şehri gezmek için yeterli bir süre, kendimi hemen Viyanalı gibi hissettim. Her şeyin düzenli olması, insanların aşırı kibarlığı ve şıklığı, huzurun en üst seviyede, kalabalığın ise optimum olması sizi şehre aşık ediyor. İstanbul' un gereksiz fazla olan kalabalığına alışmış biri olarak, cumartesi akşamı nerede bu insanlar, niye toplu taşımalar bu kadar sakin sorusunu sıkça sordum kendime.

Hallo! When we first bought tickets to Vienna, I  had no idea what to expect. I didn't know that this city would affect me that much. It has a different style from other places I visited. Everywhere smacks of art. Buildings, people, places,,, They all amaze you. We stayed only 2 night and 3 days, which is enough to visit this city, I already felt like a Viennese. You fall for the city because of orderliness, ultra kind and elegant people, tranquility at the highest, optimum crowded. Someone who is used to  Istanbul's extra crowdedness, I asked myself  where is all people at Saturday night, why is the public transportation so habitant.

Tüm bunlar bir yana, hala Viyana diye sayıklamamın diğer bir nedeni ise dünyaca ünlü, tarihi pastaneleri ve kafeleri. Çoğu kez kendimi kaybettim diyebilirim. Pasta yiyebilmek için sıralarda bekledim, yılmadım, sabrettim. Marie Antoinette teyzem boşuna dememiş "ekmek bulamazlarsa pasta yesinler " diye. Ben yerim arkadaş, hep pasta yerim yani. Viyana' da da yaşarım. Ah şu Almanca olmasa, hemen iş başvurusunda bulunurdum. Öğrenmeyi beceremediğim Almanca yine karşıma çıktı maalesef.

All these aside, why I am still delirious about Vienna is that there are worldwide- known historical bakeries and cafes. I lost myself many times. I waited lines for a piece of cake, did not give up. I agree with Marie Antoinette who said "if the people have no bread, let them eat cake'. Let me eat cake and live in Vienna. I would apply for a job there, if I did not have to learn Deutsch. There I go again with Deutsch that I gave my years to learn  but couldn't.

Ne  yedik ne yaptığa geçmeden önce, arkadaşım Lale'ye teşekkürü bir borç bilirim. Kendisi Viyana da yaşıyor. Gitmeden önce orayla ilgili tavsiye istediğimde bana harika bir gezi rehberi hazırladı. Bu yayında da anlatacağım çoğu şey onun önerdikleri yerler zaten. 

Before I jump to what we eat, did etc, I would like to thank my friend Lale. She lives in Vienna. When I asked her to give me some recommendation, she made a great travel guide. Most of the things that I am about to tell on this post from her suggestions.

Eveeet.. Bu seferlik bir değişiklik yapıyorum ve ne yedik ne içtik önce onu yazıyorum. Viyana' ya gittiğinizde yemeden dönmemeniz gereken birkaç şey var. Şnitzel, apfelstrudel, sosis, ve çeşit çeşit pasta. Tabi bir de biralar var ki  farklı aromalarda. Ben daha çok şarap severim ama buradaki biralar bir başka. Alkol kullanmıyorsanız bu sizin için bir seçenek değil tabi ki. O zaman hadi başlayalım.

I will make a change this time and start with what we eat. When you go to Vienna, there are some things that you should definitely try. Schnitzel, apfelstrudel, sausage and different kinds of cake. Also you can choose from various types of beers. I would prefer wine but beers here are really good. If you don't drink alcohol, this is not an option for you., Lets start then.

Schweizerhaus : Şnitzel, sosis, kızarmış ürünleri ve bira. Arkadaşımın önerisi üzerine biz şnitzel yemeye geldik. Domuz ve hindi çeşitleri var. Orjinali domuz olan ama hindinin tadı da gayet başarılı. Yanında lahana salatası ve patatesle servis ediliyor. Bir de bira, daha ne olsun. Şnitzeli tadmak için burası en meşhur olan yer değil açıkcası. Figlmüller genellikle turistlerin tercihi, eğer vaktiniz varsa burada da yemekte fayda var.

Schweizerhaus: Schnitzel, sausage, fries and beer. As my friend recommended, we tried schnitzel. Two options, pork and turkey. Original one is with the pork but turkey option is really good. They serve with coleslaw and potato. Also beer, there you go. Here is not most famous place to try schnitzel, there is Figlmüller that most of the tourists' choice. If you have time, try both of the places.

Bitzinger : Bildiğiniz büfe. Gece yarısı acıktığınızda uğrayabileceğiniz bir yer. Açıkcası biz 2 gece kaldık Viyana' da 2 gece de uğradık :) Yani acıkmaya çok da gerek yok. Sosisliler ve biralar var. Maalesef  sosisliler genellikle domuz ihtiva ediyor, Bu nedenle menüyü inceleyip yemenizde fayda var.

Bitzinger: It's a snack shack. When you feel hungry at night, you can stop by. Actually we visited two nights on our two nights vacation. It means you don't have to be hungry. There are sausages and beers. Most of the sausages contain pork, so if you avoid pork, you should look through the menu.

Neni: Naschmarkt' de bulunan bir modern bir orta doğu restaurantı. Naschmarkt i gezip, soluğu burada almıştık. Yediğimiz her şey çok lezzetliydi.

Neni: It's a modern middle east restaurant in Naschmarkt. We ended up here, after we  walked through the Naschmarkt. Everything we tried was so good.

Cafe Central: Viyana' daki tarihi kafelerden biri. Muhteşem bir mekan. Kahvaltı etmeye gittik biz ama kahve-tatlı yapmak isterseniz de tercih edebilirsiniz. Çok zengin bir tatlı menüsü var. Masalarda otururken kendinizi eski zamanlarda hissedebilirsiniz. Ayrıca çok şık bir yer, ekstra bir şey  yapmasanızda kıyafetinize dikkat etmeniz gerekebilir. Bu Viyana' daki birkaç kafe için daha geçerli.

Cafe Central: It's one of the historical cafes in Vienna. Magnificent place. We went there for a breakfast but also you can prefer for a dessert-coffee break. It has a rich dessert menu. You will feel like you are living in old times when you sit on the tables. Also its very chic place. You don't have to do extra, can be little careful with what you're wearing. This is applicable for most cafes in Vienna.

Cafe Schwarzenberg : Mozart konserine gitmeden önce vaktimiz vardı bir kahve içelim istedik ve tesadüfen keşfettik bu kafeyi. Burada Viyana' nin ünlü Apfelstrudelini deneme şansımız oldu. Beğendin mi derseniz, fena değildi. Eğer elmalı tatlıları çok seviyorsanız, Apfelstrudeli zevkle yiyeceksiniz.

Cafe Schwarzenberg: We discovered this place while searching for a cafe to drink cafe before we went to Mozart concert. We had the chance of trying famous Apfelstrudel. It was OK. If you like desserts with apples, you will find Apfelstrudel tasteful.

Demel : Beni buraya bırakın, ben burada yaşayayım. Allahım sana geliyorum. Bir pastacının mutlaka görmesi gereken bir pastane. Yarım saate yakın sıra bekledik o yorgun ayaklarla ama kesinlikle değer. Pastacı olmasınız bile gidin, bir pastalarını yiyin. O tarihi pastanenin havasını bir soluyun. İmalathenesi camlarla kaplı, canlı canlı üretimi de izleyebiliyorsunuz. 

Demel: Leave me and let me live here. OMG. The bakery that every pastry chef should see. We waited to be seated almost half an hour bu its definitely worth it. You don't have to be pastry chef to go there.  Have a cake and feel the historical bakery air. The production area is closed with glasses, so you can watch the kitchen.

Cafe Sacher : Ünlü Sacher Torte'nin yıllardır değişmeyen, orjinial reçetesiyle yapılan kafe. Namını okulda duymuştum. Sacher Torte' yi biz de yapmıştık. O zaman da pek beğenmemiştim, dedim herhalde orijinali daha iyi olur. Yaaani, çok da abartılıcak bir yanı yok sanki. Belki ben anlamıyorum bu işten o da olabilir. Efenim çooook ünlü 'Sacher Torte' çikolatalı kek, arasında kayısılı marmelat ve ganaj ile kaplı bir pasta. Siz de gelin yiyin. Belki çok seversiniz. En azından Cafe Sacher' e bir uğrayın. Yine söylemem gerekir ki, kıyafete biraz dikkat. Şöyle ki, içeride takım elbiseyle sosis yiyen amcalar, teyzeler vardı, siz tahmin edin gerisini :)

Cafe Sacher: The Cafe that makes the original recipe of famous Sacher Torte. I heard about it at culinary school. We also made this torte. I didn't like it that time either, I thought the original one would be better. Maybe I don't get what good dessert is but people made a big fuss about this torte. This very famous torte is chocolate cake with apricot jam filling and dark chocolate icing frosted. You should come and taste, maybe you will like it. At least stop by to Cafe Sacher. By the way, be careful what you wear. Let me tell you the atmosphere here, people wearing suit and eating sausages :)

Belvedere Sarayı: Şehrin biraz dışında kalıyor ama görülmeli.

Belvedere Palace: Little out of town but should be seen.

Schönbrunn Sarayı: Kraliyet ailesinin yazlık sarayı. Şehrin sembollerinden, mutlaka görülmeli. Bahçesine ve çevresini gezmek ücretsiz.

Schönbrunn Palace: Summer palace of Royal Family. One of the sembols of the city, should be seen. It's free to visit garden and around.

Aziz Stefan Kathedrali: Viyana' nın merkezinde bulunuyor. Önemli bir kathedral.

St. Stefan Cathedral: Located in the center of Veinna, very important cathedral.

Viyana Sanat Tarihi Müzesi : Eşim gittiğimiz her şehirde sanatla ilgili ne varsa görmek istiyor. Ben de onun sayesinde azcık kültürleniyorum :) Sanat severlerin görmesi gereken bir müze. Onun dışında mimari olarak da gerçekten etkileyici.

Veinna Art History Museum: My husband wants to see all art things in every city we visit. Thanks to him, I'm learning something :) Every art lover should see here. It's also very impressive architecturally.

Avusturya Ulusal Kütüphanesi : Müthiş bir kütüphane. Adımımı içeriye atmamla beraber büyülendim. Başka bir dünya sanki orası. Kesinlikle görün.

Austrian National Library: A magnificent library. When I stepped inside, I was amazed. It's like a different world. Definitely see here.

Naschmarkt: Tarihi bir pazar. Uzunlamasına bir sürü manav, dükkan ve lokantalar bulunuyor. Barselonada' ki 'La Boqueria' ya benziyor. Benim gibi market gezmeyi seven biri için cennet. Ayrıca burada çokca Türk tezgahlar var. Baklava, kuruyemiş vb ürünleri bulabiliyorsunuz.

Naschmarkt: Historical bazaar. There are lots of groceries, shops and restaurants. This place looks like 'La Boqueria' in Barcelona. Its like a heaven for a person like me who likes visiting supermarkets. Also many Turkish shops are located here. You can find baklava, nuts etc.

Viyana Mozart Orkestrası: Aslında bu bir aktivite. Klasik müzik sevin va da sevmeyin, bu tecrübeyi mutlaka yaşamalısınız. Yine klasik müzik sever eşim, gitmeden günler önce konser biletlerini almıştı. Çok beğendik gerçekten de ama bir hata yaptık. Yan balkondan konser izlemeye özendik, boyun ve bel tutulması yaşadık. Tavsiyem sahnenin karşısından bilet alın. Ayrıca biletleri gitmeden almakta fayda var.

Vienna Mozart Orchestra: Actually it's a "things to do". Whether you like classical music or not, you should absolutely experience this. My classical music lover husband, had bought the tickets days before. We really did enjoyed it, but made a little mistake. We wanted to watch the concert from side balcony and had a neck and back stiffness. My advice for you buy tickets from section facing towards the stage. Also tickets should be bought one week ahead.

Prater: Şehrin sembollerinden biri olan dönme dolabın bulunduğu bölge. Ayrıca biz otelimizi de buradan seçtik. Gelin bir gezin ama dönme dolaba binmek ne kadar gerekli bilemeyeceğim. Tüm şehri yukarıdan görüyorsunuz vs ama bileti biraz fazla geldi bana. İlla binecekseniz akşam vakti binip, şehri ışıklarıyla görün.

Prater: The district has an observation wheel which is one of the symbols of the city. Also we stayed in this area. Come and see, but I don't know if its necessary to take the observation wheel or not. You see the city from above but I think the tickets are little bit expensive. If you insist on taking it, do it at night with city lights.


Geldik yine bir gezelim görelim programının sonuna. Ucuz bilet bulun ve bir hafta sonunuzu Viyana' yı keşfetmeye ayırın. Bir daha gelmek isteyeceksiniz. Ben tekrar gitmek için can atıyorum :)

Well, this is the end of the post. Find a cheap plane ticket and explore Vienna on a weekend. You will want to come again. I dying to visit one more time :)
